The OLV Banquet Hall is an ideal location for a variety of events, including anniversary celebrations, wedding receptions, corporate meetings, birthday parties, elections, christening celebrations, family reunions, art exhibitions, seminars, auctions, celebrations of life, trade shows, and more.

The Banquet Hall cannot be used for any event or activity that is contrary to the practices or teachings on matters of faith and morals, of the Roman Catholic Church as interpreted by the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall.


Frequently Asked Questions

The hall is approximately 2,200 square feet and can accommodate up to 200 guests in theatre or “conversation/mingle” style. For wedding receptions, a maximum of 150 guests can be accommodated, which includes a head table, band or DJ, and dance floor.

Full-day rentals are available during the hours of 1:00 PM to 1:00 AM.

Click here for current rental rates. The rental includes a complimentary period of up to three (3) hours to decorate the hall, usually scheduled for the afternoon before the event.

The client must purchase $2 Million liability event insurance coverage.
(Click here for Insurance Rates Information). This insurance must be purchased directly from the provider.  Applications, which include payment, must be submitted via the website online form. Renters must receive a certificate of insurance through the online system for insurance coverage to be active. There may be additional fees depending on the nature of the event.

Yes, the building is one level with accessible doors and washrooms.

Yes, there is plenty of complimentary onsite parking. The parking lot in front of the OLV Banquet Hall can hold 30 to 40 vehicles (including accessible parking spots). There is also a north-side parking lot that will accommodate 50 to 60 vehicles. In addition, vehicles may be left overnight.

The OLV Banquet Hall does not provide catering; however, our wedding services include recommendations for external licensed caterer to host your special event.

The kitchen is available for food serving preparation, storage and limited use of the cooking facilities (e.g. heating foods etc) prior to the event. 

Food prepared at home cannot be served at the OLV Banquet Hall due to food safety and liability issues. The use of outside, licensed caterers are welcomed; however, we must meet with/approve your caterer prior to the event.

The bar must be professionally staffed with Smart Servers provided at reasonable rates. The client is required to obtain a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission Ontario (AGCO):  Special Occasion Permits are obtained online and paid by credit card. Once the application is made and the fee is paid online an SOP is emailed to the requestor. When printed, the permit is required to purchase alcohol at the LCBO and Beer Stores.

No out-of-province alcohol purchases are allowed. The SOP must be displayed in the bar at the time of alcohol service.
Any drink proceeds collected during the event are kept by the client.

Yes, You can bring your own wine, however a Special Occasion Permit (SOP) is required (as above) and should be visible during the function. Any leftover wine can be served at the bar.

The banquet hall manager can suggest an appropriate seating configuration based on the number of guests. Click here to view seating options.

The OLV staff will set up the tables and chairs accordingly, which can also include small tables for a guest book, cake, and gifts.

The banquet hall rental does not include table linens and chair covers.

The OLV Banquet Hall has been tastefully designed with neutral earth tones and medium oak trim and is ideal to host elegant receptions.
The lighting has individual controls, and there are floor-to-ceiling windows which allow plenty of natural lighting. All decor items must be free-standing and/or self-supporting.
The use of confetti, confetti-like objects, thumbtacks, staples, or any type of wall/ceiling puncture is not permitted. Should any of these items be used, the damage deposit will not be returned to you.

Yes, you can personalize your décor for the venue by hiring someone or decorating yourself. The OLV Banquet Hall is available for up to three (3) hours to decorate, usually the afternoon before the rental. If additional time is required, a charge of $75/hour will apply.

Removable floor stages are not permitted and nothing can be attached to the floor or walkways. They are not allowed since they have damaged the floor in the past.

The banquet hall is not available for religious services. Any religious services onsite are held in the Catholic church adjacent to the Hall which can only celebrate Catholic liturgies in accordance with the norms of canon law and archdiocesan policy.

If you want to be married in the church, contact the parish office at 613-822-2197 to make an appointment to meet with the parish priest.

The OLV Banquet Hall is obligated, under copyright laws, to collect music copyright fees and submit them quarterly to Entandem which redistributes the money to writers and recording artists.
Fees are based on events with “no dancing” and “dancing” regardless of the country of origin.

The Entandem Fee is included in the hall rental cost.

Due to safety issues bouncy castles, sun shelters, tents and any kind of temporary structures are not permitted on parish property.

Contact us to determine if the hall is available for your event. When the date and other arrangements are finalized, we require a signed contract and a $500 deposit to reserve the date.

The balance including the security deposit is payable one month prior to the event.
